Ember for iOS
The visual scrapbook for your mind
Built at Realmac Software, Ember for iOS was a way for Ember for Mac users to collect inspiration on the go. It included powerful annotation features and filtering, and iCloud sync kept users’ libraries up to date across machines.
As the UI & UX designer on the project, my job was to translate the existing Ember for Mac’s feature-set and aesthetic to iOS while taking into consideration iOS’s own design language. I also designed the icon.
“LET ME PUT IT THIS WAY: I WISH PHOTOS OR iPHOTO FOR iOS HAD SUCH A SIMPLE DESIGN. IT’S VERY CONTENT-CENTRIC AND APPROPRIATELY SO AS AN IMAGE COLLECTION APP.”
— 9to5 Mac
Ember for iOS had what was, at least at the time, a unique feedback flow that would direct the user to different screens based on their satisfaction with the app.
